The title of this post comes from the song ‘Bathe in the River‘ by Don McGlashan and sung by Holly Smith.

    • Me too! And The Mutton Birds, and The Front Lawn. I remember the From Scratch film Drum/Sing being played at an Auckland Film festival probably in the 80s and was totally blown away by that too. Don McGlashan is really central to so much of the music I love. 🙂

  1. Wow, Don McGlashan! That’s a blast from the past. I am inspired to get out my I pod and crank up my NZ playlist in this gray rainy season morning. We have some great music for such a small country.

    • What a great idea! We really do punch above our weight in music (and a few other things). I was originally going to use Anchor Me, but I love Holly Smith’s voice 🙂

      • That is another great song. I spent the morning playing Dave Dobyn, Split Enz, Neil Finn, Bic Runga, Jenny morris to name a few. Yet again inspiration from your posrs. Thanks!

      • Thank you! I’m going through a ‘Hello Sailor’ / Graham Brazier phase at the moment. I keep thinking I must be able to bring “Billy Bold” into a post somehow. 🙂
