Stunning photos. Just love your first one. We have a few spring blossoms starting to come out. Bring on spring and warmer weather.

Thanks Raewyn. Our magnolia tree is in full flower, and actually starting to lose the blossom. It is certainly a lot warmer here now than a couple of weeks ago.

We are still rather cold here. Not pleasant at times. But only a month to go til spring.

Thanks; still a favourite band after all these years.

Lovely shots. Magnolias are one of my favourite blossoms, but they can so easily be damaged by frost, which is such a cruel fate for them when we have a late spring frost.

Thanks; mine too. I love the fact that they are so intensely beautiful for such a short time. I’m not crazy about the carpet of rotting petals on the lawn afterwards though.

That’s a problem I hadn’t considered!

Just the last day or so our tree has started to lose it’s flowers and I’m walking the slushy carpet of magnolia petals to get to my hubby’s office. In England we had a beautiful pink magnolia next to an ornamental pond. Seriously yuk.

Eeeew. I will continue to admire all the magnolia trees in the gardens near my house, but will not envy them their slushy carpets!
