Thanks. I love freesias. They grow wild here and when we first arrived from the UK, my mum couldn’t believe it. They are expensive in Britain! She’d had them in her wedding bouquet, and here they are like weeds — albeit very fragrant weeds :-). Hope you’re doing ok. Smiles from rainy Auckland
I had freesias in my wedding bouquet too. Yes – they are expensive here too!
It’s a beautiful photo .. I think I would be happy to see them in bloom too π
Thanks Maureen. I thought we’d dodged it again this year. The Big T is always the most susceptible of us because he travels so much. He was horribly ill at the beginning of the year after a trip to the US.
Silent but so rich in colour and beauty!Love the sweet fragrance of freesias, hope it’ll be the right elixir to make you feel better π πππ¬πΉπ
I would give anything to have somewhere to grow freesias, Su: my childhood is speaking to me of the way they grew all down the sloping back towards the river at the back of our house … The only other flower with the same strength of memory is the lupin. And I don’t have anywhere to grow those, either …
I forget how fortunate I am to have a garden (easy to do when the lawn needs mowing and the vege patch is smothered in dandelion). Freesias are definitely the flower of my childhood.
Silent Sunday and peaceful too:)

Thank you Julie. I am feeling better today. The boy-child had a 24-hour flu-thing earlier in the week and I guess it was my turn π

Thanks; I’m not normally very susceptible, and I’m glad this one passed quickly.

It took my mum years before she got used to the fact that they grow like weeds here, and stopped pinching them from the roadside.:-)

I think I’d still be inclined to fill the house with vases of freesia every spring!
