I used to have a fine collection of trolls when I was little. They are certainly less weird than the video – so 80s! And they had the cheek to call the 70s the decade that taste forgot, I don’t know…..
I am embarrassed to admit this, but in England where I grew up as a child. Trolls were the hottest toy ever during part of my childhood. (Please don’t try and figure out my actual age!) LOL When they came back into fashion in the late 80’s early 90’s I remember laughing to myself because all the people I worked with had never seen them before! π
Hehe. They were popular when I was a kid too. I think it really must have been a UK thing, because here in NZ the only kids who had them were the recent British immigrants. I was both envious and slightly repulsed. I also remember when they “came back” and younger friends had no idea what they were. I found a cabinet full of them in a junk shop and photographed these guys.
I was born in that year but they must have played that song for ages. So many childhood memories. Been looking for it for so long! It’s so awesome and so apt with the troll pic. Creepingly fun!
Thank you. It was a “one hit wonder” and I think those are often the songs that stay in our consciousness — because they are such outliers. I had totally forgotten that song until a local insurance company started using it in their TV ad. π

Hehe. It is such a creepy video! The song is used in an insurance company ad here at the moment, which I guess is why it was in my mind. π
