Visiting The Shard in London earlier in the year, I snapped this shot of Tower Bridge and the River Thames. As you can probably see, I was in the bathroom at the time. With floor to ceiling glass on the exterior wall, it is certainly a loo with a view.
This post was written for the Daily Post Photo Challenge: Oops.
I would find that a little distracting.

I certainly lingered longer than normal. And broke my rule about never photographing bathrooms (unless it’s the Hundertwasser toilets in Kawakawa — which qualify as art).

I’ll have to look that up. Never heard of the Hundertwasser.

Thanks; it’s been sitting on my phone since March and I haven’t found an excuse to post it until now.

Might be a little disconcerting when the window cleaner is at work 😉

I did think of that. Luckily I was there on a Sunday night!

Hehe. Not much chance of that. And I had no idea the wall was glass until I was inside the loo.

Probably the most expensive dunny in London though. And you have to book!

For the loo? or to go up the Shard?

Loo access free and no booking required (I imagine there are probably queues though … as with all ladies loos) — as long as you’ve paid for the main event. It would be quite funny the other way around; lots of people crossing their legs, trying to enjoy the viewing deck knowing they can do so free unless they need the loo. I’d be hopeless.

Double oops! Just the weird reflection.

I guess that there is no concern with privacy up that high. Still, I wouldn’t like it!

It’s about 800 feet up, so I guess barring window cleaners and passing helicopters, it’s fairly private.

Thank goodness that’s all we see in the reflection. 🙂 I’ve heard of potty humor, but potty photos would be…well…oops!

Hehe; I’m weirded-out taking photos in a bathroom at all — putting myself in the shot is a step waay too far!

I’m blushing! And it’s not because of the revelations about my ablutions. Thank you dear friend.
