      • Haha! Exactly the same over here! My hands seems to have a life of their own πŸ˜‰ Even my french friends (usually the french seem to be known to be very expressive whilst talking πŸ˜‰ ) mock me about it πŸ˜‰ So, I would definitely watch that TV show of yours πŸ™‚ But a book would be lovely, too. Either you or your son could also do the pictures!!

      • I agree that there are way too many bad teachers around, but surprisingly, that particular one was one of the good guys. I think he was trying to help me develop the intensity of my language. He was my English teacher, and the first person who took it for granted that I would be a writer as an adult. He’s also the person who introduced me to Hemmingway, Steinbeck and Pasternak.

      • Well, that sounds encouraging then! πŸ™‚ I guess teachers are like everybody else: they have their good and their bad sides πŸ˜‰ I always found it amazing that a good teacher could make me interested in things I didnΒ΄t even really like, like maths for example πŸ˜‰

      • … and conversely a bad teacher can ruin subjects you love. Given how powerful teachers can be in young people’s lives it terrifies me that my country has such a blasΓ© attitude to teacher recruitment and training.
