And yet another proof of your wonderful talents, Su!! π I can never get enough of these lovely pictures, totally mouth-watering!!! π You really need to do that cooking-book! xxxxxx β€
Thank you again Sarah. π I’m trying to use at least one home-made or home-grown ingredient in everything I eat at the moment. That salad had bought kale, but I’ve made it again with home-grown, and the grapefruit are off my tree. I’d love to grow avocados too! Maybe one day. Then I can write a book about my journey to self-sufficiency (or starvation, if I’m not very good at it) Hehe. π xxxx
I think that’s a wonderful concept to live by! Wow! Your own grapefruit tree! That’s just amazing! Wish I had one too π Always wanted to grow my own vegetables and fruits. My great-grandparents lived quite self-sufficient and had an enormous garden. Sadly I’ve never seen it but my mom’s told me much about it and how wonderful it was. Everything tasted so much better and back then was all organic π I hope you’ll get that avocado tree someday, and I’m looking very much forward to that book! π It should be awesome! (and I’m sure it won’t be about your starvation π ) xxxxx
Thanks Sarah. When I was a kid it seemed that everyone had a grapefruit tree and a lemon tree in their backyard. Most of us had plum and apple trees too, but citrus was really common. Our mums made a lot of marmalade!!! xxxx
Can I come and visit, not only are you a great photographer but it looks like a great cook too! π

It looks good, Su, but is that enough for a dinner?

Guess the photo made it look small. It was really filling.

That looks like a very small dinner.
Which reminds me of the late comedian, John Penette, and a routine about salad …

π I couldn’t get the link to work, but I watched the “buffet” clip. So funny. And it was quite a big salad — it had a whole avocado in it.

Was that the ‘eat more broccoli’ clip you saw? It is still a line both my sons use on occasion π

Yes. I’d never heard of John Pinette before. He was very funny!

I like the combination of grapefruit and avocado.

It is good: and the kale works too. The acidity in the grapefruit juice almost “cooks” it.
