I’m not much of a painter Leslie. I do like working with polymer clay, and have done montage work that includes a bit of painting. I spent my time in the studio writing and taking photos. I really liked the quiet contemplative space to try different writing forms to what I normally do. And sharing the space with two painters who were also working on their projects was just lovely.
I guess you can tell that I don’t know about that. π I’ll take a look. It would be a big help. Glad you like Jerry’s work. He’s quite talented, even if I do say so myself.
He started out teaching art at a Lutheran High School in LA and as he got better and more well-known, he taught part-time and, finally, just painted. I went to school with some students who’d had him as a teacher and they said he was great. He’s in his upper 80’s and still painting. π My mom and his other sister have art talent more of the craft-type nature. I think it skipped me and went to our younger daughter.
Have you done any painting yourself, Su? I was just thinking about doing some painting today.

I’ve painted a few things around the house, but that’s about it for my abilities. π Lovely shot.

However, there is painting in my genes (or on my jeans.) Here are lots of images of and by my uncle, Gerald F. Brommer: https://images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=A0LEV7ty3H9Ykk4A94AnnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTByMjB0aG5zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw–?p=Gerald+F.+Brommer&fr=yhs-mozilla-001&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-001. (Sorry it’s so long, but I can’t help it.)

Wow!!! These are great. I totally love “Blue Hilltown.” Do you know about tiny url?– http://tinyurl.com/ —
I use it when I need to shorten a URL for Twitter so it doesn’t take up all 140 characters.

I think he’s very talented. I love the variation in technique he uses and the colours in some paintings are just stunning!

I love that he is still painting. It shows that age doesn’t have to be a barrier to work and creativity.

Thanks Janet. My painting abilities pretty much begin and end with a roller and a bucket of house-paint!

We were channeling the same thoughts this week! I just wrote about a tabula rasa–and here your pic is about filling it with beautiful creativity:).

oh the angle of the flat brushes is great – and all that color just makes us feel the energy of art…
