The weather is being kind to us at the moment, and the Big T was on dinner duty. Cue BBQ prawns, with a tomato and coriander salad and some fresh basil oil. Enjoyed al fresco of course!

Thanks. Tasted wonderful. The Big T is really into barbecuing food at the moment.

Delicious. I’m glad you’re enjoying the outdoors. Simple but elegant.

Thanks Tish. It’s a temporary thing sadly. More bad weather is expected today. We’ve been lucky we haven’t had the torrential rain (and snow) that other parts of NZ had earlier in the week, but it’s definitely not been picnic weather.

Thanks Sarah. The Big T was very patient with me “styling” his dinner before he could eat it. π

Wonderful photographs as always Su. And a lovely reminder that it’s been much too long since I’ve had prawns. π

We were very lucky to have that little window of sunshine and warmth. It has been very cold since Friday, with storms everywhere, and 30cm of snow in the South Island. So much for summer π

Is it a regular thing to have snow in summer? It can happen in Europe, but not in Ireland. I would be very disappointed π

Sometimes there is a little dusting on the mountains, but this much is unheard of. People were snow-boarding and skiing. And the rest of us have had to contend with heavy rain, landslides and very high winds. I suspect the weather will improve considerably in February (when all the children have gone back to school)!
