If only it looked like that now! Totally decimated by the caterpillars.

Lovely photos, Su. Is it the Monarch butterfly that eats the Milkweed?

Hi Leslie. Yes, our Monarch caterpillars are chomping through what’s left of the plants.

I thought I remembered something about them preferring the Milkweed.

Are these to help us here in the Northern Hemisphere welcome spring? If so, thank you!

You’re welcome Amy. NZ is pretty green all year round with our climate and largely evergreen natives so I guess I don’t associate colour with season quite as much.

Nah. I will take green and moderate every day. I’ve had enough variety already in my life. 🙂

I get that. It’s nice to choose extremes, but not great having them thrust upon you.

Thanks. It was a pretty cool sculpture; the lights changed colour so it was quite mesmerizing to watch.

Great shots of one of my favorite colors! (Well, actually I love all colors but green is indeed a special one 😉 )

Thank you Sarah. I’m a lime green kind of girl, but I realised when I was looking for shots that most of the green I’ve photographed was in nature. At least since the boy-child left primary school, where his uniform shirt was green.
