I got back from my road-trip to find some our figs had ripened.
Lucky for me this was only a five-minute shoot — figs for breakfast.

Luck you for having figs to pick. I love them, but I have to pick them at the grocery. Gorgeous photos. My mouth is watering.

It is a bonus! There are very expensive to buy here, but very easy to grow in our climate. We get one or two ripening each day so it always feels like a treat.

Such beautiful photos Su. Love the darkness of the background. They look so delicious I can almost taste them. With some vanilla bean yoghurt. Fabulous.

Thank you. I ate them with some soft blue cheese and a few rocket leaves, but I love the idea of vanilla yoghurt. Especially if I poached the figs … and a peach perhaps?

Mmmmmnnnnnn poached with peach! I’m not a fan of blue cheese sadly.

Gorgeous, I love figs but they don’t particularly like the Irish climate!

That’s a shame. My tree has taken a long time to get established, but it’s definitely paying off.

What beautiful still-life(s) and the black cloth is working well. Sets off the pink flesh of the figs perfectly. I love fresh figs!!

Thanks Jude. The black felt was definitely a great find!

Shot over 5 minutes; editing extra 🙂 It helped that I was hungry!

Mmh, yummy! Lovely pictures, Su! I love figs! Used to pick them in Spain at the beach where they´re often planted beside beach restaurants. There´s nothing better than picking fruit from a tree and it right there and then 😀 xxxxx

I second that! I love the idea of being able to pick figs right by the beach. Heaven!

Well done, composition is inviting and gives justice to the fruit’s aesthetic side.

So pretty! I’ve never eaten a fig. I’ve had plenty of fig newtons over the years but I’m guessing there is no comparison.

I had to Google Fig Newton! We don’t have them here and although I’d heard people on TV shows talking about them, I wasn’t sure I actually knew what they are. I quite like dried figs, but really prefer fresh. They are horrendously expensive here, so if I couldn’t grow them, I’d probably eat a whole lot less.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen them in the store. I’m going to have to pay close attention now.
