I knew you were going to ask me that Leslie 🙂 I don’t know what they are. I found them in a shady part of my lawn beneath the trees yesterday. I’d never seen them there before. They are really tiny; the stems weren’t longer than about two inches, and the flowers the size of my pinkie fingernail.
Oh, violets! I saw some in my neighbor’s yard – I will have to go on a violet hunt in the woods this weekend. I could use some brightening of the house.
I like the color and simplicity of this shot, Su.

Thanks Janet. I was flat on my stomach tying to take photos of these flowers while the Big T was mowing the lawn — getting closer and closer!

What kind of flower is that Su? They look so small and delicate.

Almost like a Jolly Jumpup?

I had to look up Jolly Jumpup 🙂 and yes, similar but without the yellow.

They can take over your lawn but they are so cute I sometimes leave them alone.

Thank you so much. I was trying to “out-run” the Big T and the lawnmower with those shots.

Thanks; luckily the grass was dry and fairly short.
