Six Word Saturday: all quiet at the local station

Couldn’t help thinking of the London firefighters this morning as I passed the local fire station. Feeling enormous sadness, and huge respect, for those brave men and women of the emergency services. Image: Su Leslie, 2017

      • That would be hard. We lived in a tiny little town for part of my growing up years and the fire and ambulance service were like that. My mom happened to be in a major car accident and was picked up by our volunteer ambulance workers. I’m so grateful for them. They saved her life.

      • Wow. It’s great that they were able to save her. That must be so incredibly satisfying for the volunteers to know they can do so much good in their own community. Our volunteer firefighters are a totally amazing bunch. They work so hard, have to experience so much and still find time to fundraise for charities, work with community kids groups AND are the first to volunteer to help in other areas when they can.
