Although not good for travellers (creating havoc at the airport), the mists that have laid themselves upon Auckland this last week have created a wonderland for walkers, photographers and dreamers.

For dreamers indeed.

I keep looking at the photos and thinking one day (…. probably waay in the future) I should write something story-like using them as inspiration. One day …. 🙂

It was so cool; almost a leap of faith walking up the bridge into the unknown.

Indeed, Su. There’s no end to the road it just disappears into the mist.

Beautifully tranquilizing…you’ve captured the essence of these scenes. Rarely, do I see such elements. Love it. Happy Photo Challenge.

Just stunning photos, Su. So evocative. And unfortunately that’s the way our weather has been for days here. Lots of fog. Good for photographs, not so good for the beach!

Thank you Amy. Fog during summer? What a nuisance.

Well, technically until today it was still spring—and we’ve had a terrible spring. But today it is supposed to be sunny and in the high 70s, so maybe summer has arrived right on time.

🙂 I have to confess I hadn’t heard of Hiroshi Sugimoto. But now I’ve Googled him. Wow: I love the simplicity and clarity of his work. Thanks for the introduction 🙂

These are amazing, something about these photos evoke a sense partly of tranquility and of mystery.

Thank you. Misty mornings are definitely places of mystery where even the very familiar take on new forms.
