It’s mid-winter here; although some days you would be totally forgiven for believing it’s still summer.
Days that began in heavy mist have ended with us barefoot and t-shirt clad on a beach.
If there is a theme (or perhaps an obsession) in this month’s photos, it is light. Harsh light, filtered light, reflected light — or just the focus on a single object in the dark.
The Changing SeasonsΒ is a blogging challenge hosted by Cardinal Guzman with two versions: the original (V1) which is purely photographic and the new version (V2) where you can allow yourself to be more artistic and post a painting, a recipe, a digital manipulation, or simply just one photo that you think represents the month.
These are the rules, but theyβre not written in stone β you can always improvise, mix & match to suit your own liking:
The Changing Seasons V1:
Tag your posts with #MonthlyPhotoChallenge and #TheChangingSeasons
Each month, post 5-20 photos in a gallery.
Donβt use photos from your archive. Only new shots.
The Changing Seasons V2:
Tag your posts with #MonthlyPhotoChallenge and #TheChangingSeasons
Each month, post one photo (recipe, painting, drawing, whatever) that represents your interpretation of the month.
Donβt use archive stuff. Only new material!
Lovely pictures!

The first sentence is a sentence I long to say myself one day too! π Wonderful shots, Su, every single one of them! I love the feel of solitude and closeness to nature π xxxxxxx

Thank you Sarah π It’s interesting getting to the end of a month and looking at all the photos I’ve taken. Sometimes themes definitely emerge — like mid-winter beach trips! xxxxx

You have captured that forlornness of the changing season, Su. It’s your winter and our summer. It’s been so cold here this summer that they are too late to plant corn. The price of fresh vegetables will be going up.

Thank you Leslie. π Our vegetables have been expensive because we had so much rain in autumn, and so many fields were flooded. I worry about these impacts on people whose incomes are already stretched. It’s easy to see why so many families don’t eat enough fruit and veg.

Food is getting more expensive here too.

Beautiful photographs! I only wish winter in NJ was like summer, but sadly it’s usually not! Normally, it’s quite cold her in the winter.

Auckland is just outside the “sub-tropical” zone, so we tend not to get extremes of temperature. Our winters can be pretty cold, but we also get some beautiful days. Depends whether the wind is coming from the tropics or Antarctica!

Thank you Joanne. I hadn’t realised until I started sorting photos for the post that there had been any sort of theme to my shots this month.
