I’ll consider it a success then. π I love photographing food and am trying to figure out all the technical and styling stuff — without resorting to the fake food that professionals use.
I once had a discussion with a food photographer and some of the tricks he used were positively poisonous. I like the idea of food photos without fake.
Thanks Janet. I cooked a biggish amount of quinoa, and turned the rest into little muffin / frittata type things, with eggs and cheese and black olives. We had those for breakfast yesterday and they were pretty good too.

It’s a home-cooked lunch, though certainly a bit more “styled” than my normal meals. The weather here is miserable so instead of shopping for food, I’m trying to create interesting dishes out of what’s already in the fridge and pantry.
It’s winter here, and that definitely helps. It’s been quite a mild winter so far — and Auckland doesn’t ever get really cold, but I do prefer raw food in summer! π

Thanks Sarah. The boy-child was telling me about all the different things the photographers do in the studio to make food look good, a lot of which is faking stuff so it’s not actually edible. I couldn’t do that!!!!!

IΒ΄ve once heard they use dish soap for the bubbles on black coffee!!! Yikes!

π yeah I’ve heard of some pretty horrible faking. I couldn’t bring myself to spoil real food by adding fake stuff. I was brought up not to waste food, and besides, I enjoy eating it way too much π

Thank you so much. I think of parsnip as winter food. We do get them here in summer, but they’re pretty expensive and probably imported.

Totally! I’ve been growing a couple of varieties of chilli in my garden for a few years and so use them a lot more in cooking.
