A peaceful co-existence

Or perhaps traverses a leaf?

I picked our remaining grapefruit this morning, and found this little creature on a leaf. Not welcome near my vegetable garden, I found it a new home amongst the ferns and Pittosporum in the farthest corner of the yard.

      • My littlest one went through a cute snail collecting phase two summers ago. He kept them in a metal lunch pail and would get them out for “races” – he had been watching the cartoon movie Turbo you see. It was so hard for me because it was quite cruel but I couldn’t convince him that it was mean but at the same time I didn’t want them devastating my yard… He would line them up on the driveway for a race and they would move the fastest I have ever seen snails move, which is still monumentally slow, as soon as they had moved out of their straight line formation he would pick them up and line them up again. I’m sure they were terrified. Poor things. Now he thinks they are gross.
