I envy you the upcoming spring as I always do this time of year. Our leaves are turning and falling, and I am already feeling the winter blues setting in.
I’ve never experienced really harsh winters (even in England we seldom had snow — just a lot of rain and greyness), so I associate autumn with a very welcome respite from humidity. π
π We’ve had the same conservative government for nine years, and during that time inequalities have grown, poverty has increased, child health declined, and the nature environment has been sacrificed to dairy farming. I’d like a new government very much.
What a macro beauty! Ok, it’s wordless Wednesday! I’m speechless.

A little beauty. A foretaste of the beautiful fig.

I get ridiculously excited about fig buds. It feels like the ultimate luxury to have my own fig tree. π

Same here. We’re finally getting summer!!
… mind you it does seem a bit odd to have hot summertime temperatures, but the trees and shrubs are turning yellow and red. It just looks so … odd.

Our autumns can be a bit like that. Less spectacular foliage though, since most of our natives are evergreens.

I hope so. NZ goes to the polls in a general election on Saturday. We’re hoping for our Trudeau moment (not the latest tax thing, just the election)

Are you hoping to get rid of someone?
We were just happy to get rid of Harper.

I hope so! But it’s the little fig I’m really interested in.
