My blogging week is looking to be a bit disrupted, so I thought I’d take this as an opportunity to offer something I made earlier.
I’ve scheduled a few posts for the coming days, with images I shot of the beautiful and tiny plants growing around the snowline on Mt Ruapehu.
I don’t know what any of them are sadly, so if anyone in this wonderful blogging community with more botanical knowledge than me does know — please share.
And thank you to the BBC’s Blue Peter for the title of the post series.
It’s gorgeous!

Teehee…Blue Peter! I used to watch that as a child, and I still use the expression ‘here’s one I made earlier’ even now!!

Blue Peter never made it to NZ (unlike lots of BBC stuff), so I’ve never seen it and only know it though living in the UK as an adult. Actually, when I wrote the headline, I assumed the phrase was from celebrity chef and went looking for which one to credit. Stuff ya learn from Google eh!

Is that from the same series! Very very beautiful.

Yes. I took a bunch of them and thought they provide a nice visual interlude while I’m not sure if I’ll be able to post. 🙂

I am sure you can use them all. It is so pretty.
Su, I took the liberty to invite you to join me for the 7 days B&W challenge, on my scheduled posts. If you don’t want, please just ignore it.

😃 thanks Lucile. I will join the challenge thanks. I was invited by someone else too and really like the idea. I had put it off because of travel and irregular posting, but you’ve given me a reminder to get on with it.

I’m glad to hear but please don’t feel obliged. I normally don’t join challenges but a B&W is one of the few I like.
Thanks, Su.

I’ve never done a B&W challenge, and don’t often make monochrome pictures, so it will be a genuine challenge. 😃

I hope you’ll take it as a light challenge though, as you should enjoy doing it.

Lovely image. I had a quick search for NZ alpine flora but didn’t come up with much to help id these. Hopefully some NZ botanist will come along 🙂

A phrase forever linked in my mind with Valerie Singleton. I think Blue Peter is the same as Dr Who. You give away your age with “your” presenter or Dr – and no other ever seems as good.

I like that theory. “My” Doctor is David Tennant 🙂 I was too scared of the Daleks to watch when I was a kid. Now it’s just those Angels I have to worry about.

That makes you SO young by my theory…..

I had a feeling I wouldn’t be able to get out with the Camera again for a while and I had a Sunday afternoon free so I spent it at the computer 😁

I had no idea that expression came from Blue Peter. I admire your preparation. Did you see the BBC archive footage of Blue Peter and the phone with no cable? https://www.facebook.com/BBCArchive/videos/472572483115787/

Nor did I. I assumed celebrity chef and went searching for which one. I haven’t seen the footage. Will watch when I get better internet connectivity. On holiday and struggling a bit. Might be the incentive I need to unplug for a day or two.

Sounds like a good idea; unplugging that is. 🙂

I love scheduling!! I have no idea what the plant is, except that you took a beautiful shot of it, and I have no idea about Blue Peter and am too busy to look it up. Perhaps another time. 🙂

I have never scheduled more than one post before, but these work well S a series. Blue Peter is an absolutely iconic children’s programme from the BBC. It’s so much part of British people’s childhoods that catch phrases have entered the language. I never saw it, but even in NZ was aware it existed.
