“Seven days. Seven black and white photos of your life. No people. No explanation. Challenge someone new each day.”
I’d like to invite Philip at Cambodian Beginnings to join in (no pressure naturally, but you know that).
Philip’s images of everyday life in Cambodia are fascinating and sometimes very moving.
What gorgeous ruffles.

Now I know where the road block is – not been making the bed! Intriguing photo, Su. Looks like a pillow of roses – metaphorical or otherwise.

Cushions with folded fabric “petals” so yes, very like roses. I’ve been very lax with bed-making lately; will have to try harder and see if it makes a difference.

I made the bed yesterday. I wonder if that counts 🙂

Sounds like something my mother would say! I never eat breakfast before making my bed. But mine doesn’t like as pretty as the one in your photograph.

And my mother too. That’s actually our spare room bed. I did try putting pretty cushions on ours, but as the Big T makes it (he tends to get up last), it didn’t last. Artful arrangement of soft furnishings is not high on his list of morning priorities — especially pre-coffee.

I must admit that the pillow thing was never part of my bed-making education as a child. I tend to toss them on the bed and hope they land somewhere interesting!

We’ve always tended to be pretty utilitarian with pillows, but when we were thinking of getting the house ready to sell (which we will, eventually), we noticed that open homes and “home” magazines always have beds piled with lots of pretty cushions. Totally impractical for sleeping of course, but quite nice for reading in bed.

I have been annoyed in hotels throwing all those throw pillows all over the room!

Oh I know. Between those, and the heavy bedspread thing that I couldn’t ever sleep under — I end up with a mountain of soft furnishing shoved in a corner.

LOL!! And then I end up either losing some possession in that pile or tripping on it.

There is a tranquility to your capture, especially the ethereal and out-of-focus effect.

What a pretty pillow sham, Su, what colour is it?

Thanks Leslie. I guess it’s a kind of silvery mushroom colour.

That would be very nice.

Beautiful – the adjective I want to use is yummy (which has nothing to do with the picture, other than that it reminds me of cake).

I like “yummy”. I use it a lot (and not just for cake)! 😃
