Ha – like mine in the conservatory last year. Had so many tomatoes I had to make batches of sauce to freeze as I was away for a month. Poor OH left to water them daily. Still got chillies on the plants, but they do take a long time to ripen in the cold! Lots in the freezer too! Be having spiced food for years I think 😉
🙂 I thought that too about the lemongrass I froze one year, but it’s surprising how quickly it goes. And chillies are pretty versatile. I put some of ours into the plum sauce I made with our windfall plums. It has a nice little kick 🙂

and for some reason this photo reminded me of something i heard a little while back – did you know in the victorian age they used to have potted cherry tomatoes in the house for decor – and never ate them – missing out on that lypcopene – ha
well I had ornamental peppers and the fruits hung there for a long time – maybe their ornamental table-top cherry tomatoes were similar – and not like what we grow – because I know when mine are ripe they either drop of crack.

and too bad they didnt eat those tomatoes – all that vitamin c too

Yes outdoors. With all the rain we’ve had, and the heat, the tomatoes and chillies are going crazy. 🙂

I didn’t know that. I can’t imagine ripe tomatoes surviving to look pretty in our house 🙂

Good point. Our garden centres sell little ornamental chilli plants, and I suspect the chillies are either inedible or just a bit yuk. 😀
