Itโs a cicada exoskeleton. They are all over the place at the moment. Iโm just grateful the the boy-child has outgrown the urge to collect every one he finds and store them in a jar in his room. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Oh my! That must have been quite a phase! I’m glad mine just collects scraps of paper …. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Hehe. Mine was a collector of all sorts of things. All passing fancies, abandoned in cupboards and corners, to be found later by me ๐ LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
I also wondered what that was. I am glad Wordless Wednesday doesn’t prevent us from asking questions! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
So that’s what they look like. I’ve heard them but never seen one, great photo Su. Leslie LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
We donโt see the actual cicadas often, but there are lots of these exoskeletons around at the moment ๐ LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Hehe. I actually like the shells better than the noise. It gets very loud here ๐ LikeLiked by 1 person Reply

I had heard that cicadas have a long life-cycle, but 17 years is really impressive!
