ACE Re-Do!!!
Congratulations on a great recovery.
Love the black – suits the fabric perfectly.
The thought of the natural wood, nice as it was, now seems blah.
You’ve given me something to think about as I’ve an old chair …
Thanks so much. I wasnβt tempted at the time by the bare wood, but if I find another chair I might go down that route, with some really modern, colourful geometric fabric.
Do post photos if you refurb your chair π
Oooo ~ another chair re-do! Will look forward to yours, seeing the fabric, etc.
Mine is in covered up stage right now as it’s very bare. Have no place here for painting or sanding so was thinking pillows. Am stuck deciding fabric but will post something eventually. Thanks again for the ideas!
π I found choosing fabric really difficult, partly because I was so unsure of my abilities that I didn’t want to spend lots of money on it. In the end, my boys chose the graffiti print, which was on sale.
I am really lucky we have a garage to do the wood prep in, and the Big T has lots of tools. Especially as I bought another chair yesterday. It’s not a good candidate for a modernist print and stripped back wood, as it’s really old and a bit more ornate. It needs LOTS of work, so it will be a slow project.
I hope you find the right fabric for your chair. π
Oh, awsome! You did it! Yay! Looks incredibly comfy. π You can be very proud of yourself, especially after all those setbacks with the paint. ππ xxxxxx
Thank you so much. I am really pleased with how it turned out. Even the hand-sewing, which I was really nervous about, looks ok and it is comfortable. I’m working on the footstool now. π xxxxxx
Splendid!

Thanks Jude. Itβs a really dark stain, almost black because I put a few coats on to get a really smooth finish. π

That turned out well. Somehow I imagine that fabric in color, though, bursting forth to catch the eye. π

I like the word ‘re-imagined’ too, because this isn’t the same chair at all!
