Our poor plum tree is confused. After bearing record numbers of fruit earlier in the year, it began to blossom again; fooled perhaps by the unusually warm weather.
Sadly, this awakening was short-lived. Auckland’s weather has turned, and any blossom not torn off in the storm last week has been drenched and blown away in subsequent days.

Ahh, I get to be the first to say, “Beautiful shot, Su.” 🙂

Love the water drops. And we also are getting bizarre weather patterns. Yesterday it was in the 70s (F), today it was in the 30s with icy rain. Poor daffodils are confused.

Plum is a very lovely flower. Spring OR fall 😀

Agreed. I’m pretty keen on the fruit too. This season’s plums were quite small and not great for eating but perfect for jam and plum sauce. 🙂

Me too. It’ glorious here at the moment, but from the office window I can’t see the Waitakeres for cloud, so I expect it will be raining again soon.

A short awakening then. Love the raindrops Su 🙂

Thanks Jude. I hope that little burst of activity isn’t actually detrimental to the tree.

Let’s hope not. Sadly my fuchsias that had new leaves emerging were hit by the snow and freezing temps and now appear to be just bare sticks. I’ll give them another couple of weeks before giving up on them.

Oh no. I do hope they recover.

Thanks Leslie. It is quite warm here again after a cold blast last week. Very wet though 😦

It’s still cold here and you’d never know it was spring. It must be nice somewhere.

I love love love this shot!
The dew dripping off … it looks so lush, and at the same time, a little melancholy.

Thanks Ju-Lyn. Blossom out of time that has no chance to fruit is a little sad I guess.
