Such a lovely colour for a Chrysanthemum, Su. Their scent is suppose to be good for keeping Ticks away. The Ticks here carry Lime disease. Do you have that there?

Oh my! This reminds me of huge failure of mine when I tried to paint exactly this flower two weeks ago! ๐ It was horrible! I was much too impatient to draw every little petal, thought I could cheat by using some effects and utterly and miserably failed. ๐
Iโve just been listening to a TED talk by Ken Robinson about how we lose our creativity in an education system that stigmatises mistakes. Do you know his work? He argues very persuasively for experimenting and embracing the stuff that doesnโt โworkโ because thatโs how we learn. I know heโs not the only person saying this; I just found him really interesting to listen to. And I think we can both benefit from being kinder to our creative selves. ๐
I haven’t heard of him before but will have a look for his work later because I’m endlessly curious and think this could be quite helpful. It sure isn’t easy to embrace the stuff that doesn’t work! ๐
It was shot in-situ. The light was fading and it put the surrounding foliage into shade. I add a vignette effect in editing to emphasise that, but otherwise, it was fairly natural. ๐
So pretty.

Perhaps it is rather passion with flowers. Right?

Thanks Leslie. I didnโt know that about chrysanthemums! Iโm not sure about Lyme disease here; Iโve never heard of a case locally.
