The magnolia tree’s at that stage where the flowers haven’t quite opened, and the tree really did remind me of a candelabra today; albeit one swaying in the wind.

It’s windy here today, too. My magnolia is at about the same stage. I will have fun tomorrow looking upon the buds as candles. A lovely image.

Thank you. It the first time Iβve seen our tree with so many of the buds at the same stage; normally some have floored and gone while others are budding.

May it soon bloom into magnificence.

I love the flowers, but hate the pile of mush left behind.

Oh dear. Don’t tell me your magnolias are preparing to bloom soon. That can only mean that your spring is coming … and that of course means our autumn is coming.
Noooooo! I’m not ready!!

If itβs any comfort, I donβt think there is an entirely linear relationship between our seasons. π But just in case, I suspect we have an awful lot more winter to come

Not that I would wish that on you, but I’m hoping for a lot more summer π

Given that our winters are very tame, feel free π

It really does look like a candelabra! And I love magnolia trees and just wish the blossoms would stay longer than just a few days! Last time I missed the ones growing around here by about a day or two and was totally devastated. I had been planning a lovely shooting in a near cemetery. Ah well, hopefully next year! π xxxxxxx

π I know what you mean about the βblink-and-theyβre-goneβ blossom. Youβd only know there had been flowers from all the brown mushy petals on the ground. Our tree is just far enough away from a photograph-taking spot that I need a long lens. Unfortunately itβs also between us and our neighbourβs house. Every year I feel I have to explain and apologise for standing on my verandah pointing a huge lens at their house (especially now as the husband is retired and home all the time).

Haha! I totally know what you mean! I feel that every time I take a picture of my flowers because the neighbouring house is quite near and IΒ΄m always afraid they think IΒ΄m taking their pictures! π I always make sure to fuss around the flowers and not once blink in their direction. π
