🙂 the poor thing was a bit decimated last night. I made a Vietnamese inspired salad and used a mix of mint and basil instead of the Vietnamese mint that I didn’t have.
We grew mint once or twice at our house in Cleveland, but you have to be careful with because it’s so invasive. I was amazed to see the places it showed up, places quite a distance from where we had it planted it!
Yup. It used to grow like crazy outside our back door where the water tank was. The tank leaked and provided the perfect moist shady spot. But every now and then I’d find it in a whole other part of the yard. I miss it now that we have a new tank and nowhere wet enough for mint anymore.
We used to have mint growing rampantly near a leak in our water tank, but since we got a new (underground) tank, there is nowhere really moist enough for it, so I settle for pots on the windowsill. Not much good for the pollinators though 😦
I also use fresh mint leaves for tisane. You can also use them with fizzy water and add some ginger, makes for a lovely fresh lemonade (sans sugar though 😉).xxxxxxx

🙂 It’s such a good herb to have around. Tish reminded me the other day that the fresh leaves make a lovely tisane — much nicer than bought mint tea!

I don’t mind that, although I don’t have anywhere in my garden wet and shady enough to grow it any more, so I have a pot on the windowsill.

Love mint and I’m not a bit bothered if it is invasive. When it flowers the pollinators love it too.
