Actually a bunch of women (and a couple of little girls). They were working on a huge sheet of paper, adding colour and texture with paint and crayon, brushes and combs and fingers. It was a joy to watch and photograph!
This was mainly an exercise in helping the students to let go. The overall finished product was a bit muddy because by the time everyone in the group had experimented with all the colours and techniques, a lot of the original diversity was gone. It was so cool to watch though.
π I’m not crazy about the feeling of anything that dries on my hands — clay, flour, paint. I’ve got better and can bake bread now, but I’m not sure that finger-painting or ceramics will ever be my “things”.
Who’s having fun?

Oooh! I want to try this some day. I’ve seen some amazing stuff done by finger painters. Definitely not just for primary school anymore!

Getting closer to the canvas is the idea of finger painting. Better than using a brush, Sue!

It certainly worked for those working on this project!

Looks like fun, Su, I often use my fingers when I paint.

π I can see the appeal, watching the artists at work, but I’m not fond of the feeling of paint drying on my hands.

you need a lot of paper towels for that….

I loved finger painting and remember how excited I was when I got to do with my kids.
