In Devon UK this happened for real. The seagulls were so cruel as to drop-fly over picnic tables and guests and stealing fries right out of the guest’s hands…. Attending children screamed with terror!
I guess this is a red-billed gull? I love the red bill and legs. Such a contrast with the white and grey plumage. Gulls get such a bad press, but really they are quite intelligent creatures.
Definitely intelligent; but really annoying. They kept flying right over our picnic, then landing close by. It turned our relaxing evening meal into something of a shovelling-fest.
LOL! NZ gulls seem to be as sneaky as US gulls. π

π You’re welcome. We enjoyed watching the gannets and white terns that nest at that beach. They are better behaved than the gulls!!!
