Where is this door to another mysterious world located? I am intrigued by your photo, Su!

It’s in a field around the corner from my house. There used to be horses grazing there, but the land is now for sale and houses will be built 😦

Love this one and the quote is perfect Su!

This must have stirred your imagination something fierce! I love that bright yellow!

Wish I could say it did. But it’s a real estate promotion for the piece of land. Another sliver of nature about to be covered over by a horrible house.

Sigh. The price for progress …

You said it’s a piece of marketing—for what? Paint? Doors?
Very surreal!

Real estate! The land it’s on is for sale. It quite sad really; there used to be horses grazing there and soon there will be yet another enormous, probably ugly, house. Our neighbourhood is totally changing in charActer; very quickly ☹️

AH…got it. Clever. And yes, I know what you mean. We call them Mc Mansions here.

Mc Mansions — that’s such an appropriate term 🙂

A great sight but a portal to a world I don’t really care for. The developments around Christchurch, the loss of fields, simply boggle my mind. I feel like a stranger in parts of my city now.

That’s exactly how I feel. Greenhithe used to be wonderfully rustic and semi-rural. I think this piece of land may have been the last vacant piece in the village and I’m so sad to see it sold. People are buying perfectly good, small modest houses for the land, bowling them and building hideous “mansions.” The environmental impact of every part of this process is appalling. 😦

This is one of those things I find absolutely adorable! If I had the yard to support it, I would definitely want a door ‘feature’ 🙂

I absolutely love that idea Joanne. Door as art. I do have quite a large yard ….

Su, just wanted to let you know that your comment on my Historic Bloopers part 2 post got trashed when I got rid of the duplicate post that some how appeared this morning. However, I appreciated that you commented and didn’t want you to think I just didn’t respond. The WP gremlins got me. 🙂

🙂 I know what you mean. I could these over and over. Fortunately, there are lots more to share, although only one more history one. I also found three other word books I have, so Tuesday word fun will be going on for some time.

Thanks, Su. It’s just the two of us, but nice and peaceful. The girls and new s-i-l will be home for a good amount of time for Christmas.

Sadly not. It’s part of a marketing campaign to sell the block of land for development. 🙁

It is rather odd. And frankly I’m surprised it hasn’t been vandalised — we seem to have acquired a posse of local “youf” with a penchant for mindless destruction.

Shame about the ‘youf’. Maybe this appeals.
