Craft beer is becoming huge here (a few years behind the US I think), and so there are lots of experimental brews. This one was basically a slightly fruity, spicy lager, without the usual bitterness of the hops.
🙂 I’m beginning to learn about brewing and it is fascinating. It does seem a bit like everyone and their dog has suddenly set up a craft brewery here (a few years ago it was boutique wineries), so it’s good to know a bit about brewing so I don’t end up ordering beers I’ll never like (like most IPAs).
The names are wonderful! There must be something about beer drinkers, because often beer commercials are very clever and stand out for actually being watchable — unlike most advertising.
I really like these craft beers, they taste much better than normal ones to me. Hope you’ll get lucky and convince the Big T to start his own brewery!! 😄
Me too. We’re off to check out a couple of craft breweries today. I think if he doesn’t get inspired soon, I may have to try my hand at brewing. I think there is a synergy with bread-making so maybe it will turn out to be something I can do. I’ll hold the job of chief taster open for you 🙂 xxx
Have fun at the breweries! 😄 And I totally agree about the synergy with bread-making, here in Germany beer’s also called liquid bread! 😁
And thanks for holding the chief taster job open for me. 😉 Hehe! Xxx
Looks like perfect resuscitation after a hot day.

Normally I would too, but I’m trying to learn to like beer in the hope that a small craft brewery might be in our future 😀

I probably would have liked it. I prefer my beer less hoppy—-love the wittebiers in Germany!

I think we could drink beer together! I also don’t like IPAs, but my husband does. Whenever we sip each other’s beer, we both make awful faces!! 🙂

I am not a beer drinker, but pour me a glass of white wine and I will join you. 😀

I normally drink wine too, but there are so many good craft beers being made now, I do feel I need to try a few.

I’m not a beer drinker either, but I do so like all the inventive names! I don’t mind a lager in the hot summer after a couple of hours in the garden.

It looks good. I can’t remember when I last had a beer. But when I did drink beer, back in the dark ages, I liked it dry and unsweet.

I like that the little craft breweries are experimenting with new techniques and ingredients, and challenging the big breweries.

I have enjoyed a few Flemish sours but prefer the darker stouts.
