Thanks Pauline, I’m just putting the finishing touches on my post now, and have linked yours in. Hope 2019 is a good one for you, Jack, the garden and your whanau.
I love Agapanthus flowers as they remind me of South Africa, but I seem to recall you or the Aussies or maybe both of you consider this beautiful bloom to be a pest?
Technically, they are invasive and not great for our “evolved in isolation” natives. But I’ve noticed that councils plant them on verges, and you can buy them in garden centres, so perhaps they’re not that bad. And I love them too 😻
Thanks for sharing Su, we’re having a green Christmas this year but the only flowers, aside from Christmas cactus, is coming form you.

My son lives near Waiuku and the daughter in Tauranga so spend about a week with each then do a bit of a road trip somewhere.

If you think you’ll be in Auckland with a bit of spare time, let me know. Perhaps we can catch up.

😀 Thanks. The good thing about being a bit laid up is that I can lie on the couch with the air-con turned on and not feel too guilty.

😀 I love how as the red pohutukawa disappears, it’s replaced with purple agapanthus. They both flower prolifically enough to “colour” the landscape.
