Oh yum. I have just started to harvest my nectarines. Not because they are ready but because they are starting to rot on the tree. Too much rain. Even though they are green they cook up beautifully.
Here they are definitely a summer fruit. We often have them around Christmas, along with nectarines. The best apricots and peaches donβt ripen til a bit later though.

Yum!
I picked the plums a wee bit soon too because otherwise the birds get them. I think theyβll be fine after a day or so on the windowsill π

I always think of plums here in autumn and yet you are only in the start of summer! Your plums must grow very quickly over there π

I love nectarines. And plum jam.

Me too. I made plum jam with cardamon a couple of years ago. It was good — if I say so myself.

Thank you. I picked the plums a day or two early to stop the birds getting them, so hopefully I can have plums for breakfast tomorrow.π

I know what you mean!! I love spicy plum sauce, and am hoping our two little trees will provide a big enough harvest π

Not really. Here plums ripen from mid-December. We have two varieties which ripen a couple of weeks apart.
