I saw this little car on the seawall at Takapuna Beach; forgotten and left behind, but hopefully not too badly missed by its young owner.
If I were writing a whodunit, an abandoned toy could be the clue upon which the story turns? But who is the mystery woman in the background?

Poor Lightning McQueen! Could be that his arch-nemesis is Chick Hicks ran him off the road. As for the mystery woman in the blur, hmm, could be … a passerby? In the wrong place at the wrong time?

I’m impressed you know the character — my son is too old to have been interested in the Cars phenomenon, so while I was aware that probably where the toy belonged, I had no idea what it was called.

Takapuna beach was just at the end of the road we used to live in during the NZ days.

😀 which end? Both are beautiful, with the houses worth a fortune these days. This was taken at the north end, by the boat ramp. There’s a really good cafe there if you happen to be passing and feel like lunch with a view on your visit.

We were at Hauraki Corner. I think lots has changed in the 20 years since we left

Definitely!! Though in terms of the retail area, Hauraki is less changed than many places.

Who indeed is the figure in the background. Interestingly, the little car doesn’t look lost. It looks perky and ready for adventures of its own. 🙂

😀 poor woman — she darted across the beach, obviously worried she’d spoil my photo, and instead made it more interesting.
