Love that quote, Su. And the rug and cushions set out so invitingly (to say nothing of the wine), which rather reminds me that I rarely spend much time actually sitting in the garden. A new resolution for the summer then.
Thanks Tish. I don’t spend nearly enough time just enjoying the garden, mainly because there hasn’t been much shade. It’s taken me (and the trees growing) 19 years to find this spot. 😂😂
Absolutely!! I’m actually thinking it would be a good place for a bench.
Know what you mean about lying down though. I did Alexander Technique classes years ago, and learned how to get up without stressing back and limbs — incredibly useful these days.
You can only harvest if you make the effort to work for it. What a lovely picnic, Su! That book about sourdough looks great. Are there any recipes in it you haven’t already tried?
It is a really interesting book. More a story about the author’s growing interest in sourdough than a recipe book. I haven’t done much cooking at all because it is so hot here and bread needs such high temperatures to cook. 🙂
Yum yum! But I know how that hot kitchen feels like. I ate only salads, fruits and bread for about 8 weeks because of the heatwave, anything else demanded too much effort from my part and I tried ferociously not to add any more heat to my kitchen by cooking in it!
Not now though – I´m making my gnocchi again today! 😉
So true, but today we are on holiday. 🙂 It was not sitting in the shade weather here. It was quite chilly.

I’ve almost forgotten what chilly is like. 🤔

I get to do both. I’d spent the morning pruning trees and building a rockery 😀

Love the quote and the photo looks so inviting. Can I pull up a chair? If I was to lie down on that blanket I may not get back up again!

Planning dinner is quite important as well, Su, and it looks as though you made a relaxing choice. 🙂

Thanks Janet. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to discover that corner of the garden.

We are having a “F@##$ing” ice storm here Su. I’d give (almost) anything to be there.

I had the same problem last summer – not much cooking or baking! 😀

I made pizza and granola bars yesterday. It was so hot in the kitchen I barely had the energy to eat them 🤣🤣
