Our neighbourhood sheep are so used to humans wandering through their dinner table, they’re more likely to regard us as a potential food source than a threat. When they can be bothered looking up from their endless munching … I mean lawn-mowing.
Regular Random is a photo challenge hosted by Desley Jane at Musings of a Frequently Flying Scientist. Please pop over and take a look; and if you’d like to join in:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to Desley’s post.
Sheep always make me smile 🙂

Are those sheep in lamb (not sure of the correct terminology)? They have enormous tummies, but then again, that grass looks very lush. 🙂

Pretty sure they aren’t. Lambing here tends to be Aug-Sept. And I remember seeing on the community FaceBook page a while ago that one of them had delivered a lamb.
They are very well-fed!

Storing up a bit of fat then for the winter. Or maybe the dinner table! But they don’t look like meat sheep.

🙂 They seem to belong to someone whose property is adjacent to the reserve, and the sheep just graze at will. There have been sheep there (maybe not the same ones) for as long as we’ve lived here. There was a pig too at one stage but I think she died of old age.

Wonderful portraits, Su! Wish there were sheep in my neighbourhood, they would considerably beautify it. 😊

They, and the Pony Club, are all that’s left from our — quite recent — rural past.
