I’m not much of a sailor, but today has been a tiring day of petty frustrations, and I rather like the idea of casting off in a little boat and just sailing away for a while.

With that golden light and silky water, it’s a beckoning space …. Fabulous capture of water and light.

Oh your photo is masterful – the reflection and the glistening spikes of the sailboats – and then the man and his boat-
And wishing you a better day today ;$

Thank you Yvette. Yesterday was exhausting for the sheer volume of petty annoyances. One or two, Iβd brush off β but they all came at once ππ

Oh I know days like that —- ;(
And this picture was a great splash of joy (and sparkle)

Neither am I mostly for the fact that although I worship the water, Iβm getting βseasickβ quickly, even on a large lake – but still, I am totally with you – when I lived near a lake, I often took a book with me and took a boat cruise on said lake, rain or shine, often one of few passengers, and I calmed down, watched the world go by, settled my thoughts, maybe read – or not – and went off the ship in much better form.
Hope your weekend will be better π

Su, I can picture you lying back like the lady of Shalott (minus the tragic ending). I’ll go for the interpretation that the poem is about empowerment of women, rather than about hopelessness.

I like that interpretation Tracy! Wishing you a fun, creative weekend ahead.

When things are rough and we are frustrated, we wish to step into a boat and gently row into the sunset. You captured your desire with these amazing photos so well, Su.

How very beautiful, there is nothing better than evening light on calm water to soothe the soul, and the man in the boat just adds to the tranquil atmosphere you have cleverly captured here Su.

Iβm not normally envious of people in boats, but in this instance ….. π

I wish I was better on a boat, it must be so nice to just sail off and visit coves that no-one else can access. Even kayaking! I’m afraid I am too old to learn to do that now and too afraid of the sea.

We have friends who sail, and I do get very envious of their photos, but like you, Iβm not a comfortable sailor. I like kayaking though β as long as I can poodle along following the shoreline (and the seaβs not rough).

He’s probably going fishing and that’s a perfect escape from the problems of the day.

So sorry to hear it was that kind of day, Su. But the photos are fabulous! π That golden light – Turner would turn in his grave with envy if he saw it. π

Thank you my dear friend. It was just a day of annoyances — new purchases that were flawed, bureaucratic errors that I had to argue — you know how enough of those just drain the energy.
