“Bees do have a smell, you know, and if they don’t they should, for their feet are dusted with spices from a million flowers.” ― Ray Bradbury, Dandelion Wine
Words are ingredients that writers can combine in infinite ways. And as good cooks sustain and nourish and delight us with the products of their craft, so too will good writers. Sometimes it is the smallest phrases — the careful choice and arrangement of just a few words — that bursts into our consciousness and remains a delicious memory long after we put down the book.

Exquisite indeed!
How do you get the photo taken before the bees fly away? I’ve had no success with that. By the time I get anywhere near enough, they have flown off. 🐝

Thanks Hannah. I have a macro lens, so I can use a really wide aperture and fast shutter speed. I also just take lots of shots 😀

Su, I’m about to get a macro lens – I’ve wanted one since I was 20, which was…….. um, a really long time ago. Do you have multiple macro lenses, an adjustable one,…..? Any info/recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a Canon 100mm f/2.8 lens which is amazing. It was a gift, bought on the recommendation of my son who is a photographer. I didn’t know much about macro lenses (still don’t really), but with most photo gear, I try to find a small professional photo store where the staff actually know the products and talk to them about what I want to do. Hope you get some good advice and the lens you want.

Beautiful photo, Su! And from now on I will always think of smelly feet when I see a bee! 😂 Of course only smelly in a good way though. 😉
