There isn’t really a story to go with my choice of Cavatina for 30 Days, 30 Songs. It is an incredibly beautiful piece of music and I’ve been humming it all day.
Cavatina is a musical term, originally describing a short, simple song. The most famous is composed by Stanley Myers, performed by John Williams and used as the theme for the 1978 film, The Deer Hunter.
As for the waterfall; in my mind it just fits somehow.
The very talented Sarah at Art Expedition is hosting 30 Days, 30 Songs during the month of June. You can see her latest song choice here.
You must have ESP, Su. I was feeling like a bit of classical guitar today. That is just beautiful.

John Williams is one of favourite guitarists in my large classical guitar collection. I like this soothing piece of music very much and listen to it often. A fine example of bringing peace to my heart in a world of screaming voices. Thank you, Su!

He is one of the worlds greats Su. I never saw him before so it’s interesting to see what he looks like.

I think he looks a lot better these days with his hair cut short.

Do you know the version with him playing and Cleo Laine singing? Itβs called He Was Beautiful. Love everything about it, the guitar, the voice, the lyrics.
Val Doonican is the icing on the cake for this one. Or not β¦

I didnβt, but have now just watched it a couple of times. She has an extraordinary voice (and was gorgeous). Sheβs 91 now!!
Val Doonican brings back memories of childhood; Sunday nights when there was only one TV channel in NZ. π¬

I had to go and listen to it again myself after posting the comment! Val Doonican was one of our childhood staples too – with his jumpers and his rocking chair,

I could listen to this all day. I love that film by the way. G. Harrison, Prince, David Gilmour and John Williams are among my favourite guitarists.
