Cheating a bit for this week’s Six Word Saturday because I think this image works nicely with a song that’s on my 30 Days, 30 Songs list.
In my mind, it belongs to a time when the boy-child was a big fan of SingStar, which we seemed to play constantly for a while.
When we weren’t fishing.
Posting this to Six Word Saturday hosted by Debbie at Travel with Intent, and to Sarah’s 30 Days, 30 Songs challenge, at Art Expedition.
Not being an native English speaker, I always have to search for the lyrics – this truly seems to have been a world of teenagers’ first choice of song – lovely and cute presentation! Love it.

It’s coming round again
slowly creeping hand
of time and its command
soon enough it comes
and settles in its place
its shadow in my face
puts pressure in my day
This life well it’s slipping right through my hands
these days turned out nothing like I had planned
It’s coming round again
the slowly creeping hand
of time and its command
it settles in its place
its shadow in my face
puts pressure in my day
soon enough it comes
here it is again
slowly creeping hand
time and it’s command
soon enough it comes
settles in it’s place
puts pressure in my day
undignified and lame
This life well it’s slipping right through my hands
These days turned out nothing like I had planned
Control well it’s slipping right through my hands
these daysโฆ
Actually, I come back to my former comment – I still often have the same feelings about days slipping through my hands….. out of control….. too much pressure….. ๐

I’ve never been fishing. Well, only tiddlers, in a net. Am I missing out? ๐ ๐

It was a phase we went through. We didnโt catch much, but it was fun. T and I are thinking about getting into it again as people do actually catch their dinner round here, and we both love fish.

It’s another new song for me. Thanks for introducing me to this awesome voice. I will look up for this artist as well. Great photo too! I only went fishing once, and it was in Hawaii. Caught a big Mahi Mahi. Beginners luck, I guess. I gave the fish to the captain of the boat. He told me it would feed his village for many days. The fish didn’t die for nothing.

That was such a nice thing to do. I guess taking the fish yourself wouldnโt have been feasible, it reminds me of an essay by Umberto Eco called โHow to Travel with a Salmonโ โ which is very funny. The mind works in strange ways โ or at least mine does ๐ฌ

That is so funny Su. I never read that book and I love Umberto Eco BTW. I was told that I could’ve brought the fish to the hotel and the cook would have prepared it for us, but honestly, I much prefer the first option.

It was certainly a kind option.

Perhaps… But can you really imagine me walking in the five stars hotel with my big Mahi Mahi in my arms! That would have been really funny. ๐

Funnier still if youโd walked up to reception and tried to book it a room.

Oh! I love Umberto Eco but haven’t heard of this one before. Another trip to the library is called for. ๐

I don’t fish, but you definitely have “caught” the mood of it. (Sorry about the pun.) ๐ ๐ Peaceful and serene.

Thanks. It was a lovely peaceful scene. The guys fishing seemed very happy to be outdoors and in each otherโs company. As were we!

I think people who fish are philosophers. ๐ ๐

Oh! What is the name of the beach? I’ve heard NZ is one of the most picturesque places on the world. And your pictures really prove it! <3!
