😀 They are tiny — pinky finger-tip sized, so very labour-intensive to prepare. And I’m not totally sure they are edible.

I was about to say I don’t know, but as others have also asked, I thought I should find out.
I’m not absolutely sure of my identification, but if I’m right they are edible but have to be harvested really quickly as they auto-digest, turning black (and looking really gross).

I shouldn’t like this…. I get them in heaps too in wet autumns – and they are a pain in the backside! Found the only way to get rid of them is scraping them deeply off their surface, often roots of cut trees – taking away even the rind of the dead tree is helping. Good luck – and yes, they do look cute – for about 10 minutes, after that they grow to be terrors!

We get patches of these every year, but generally small and isolated. They haven’t become a problem yet 😬

How weird! Do you really think they’ll be gone in a day? They do look as if they might taste good, although I am not one to experiment with mushrooms 🙂

They have a very short life-cycle. They turn black and auto-digest. Not pretty at all 😬
