There is such beauty in these old buildings.

I agree. There are a few I pass on regular trips that I am keeping an eye on — I’m sure a couple of them are near to collapse, which would be sad.

Wouldn’t it be fun to see if there were any old newspapers or such left behind?

Yes!! I have heard of people finding newspaper stuffed in the walls of old buildings.

I am amazed how to you come across these wonderful gems. Did you know these sheds were there when you took this walk? Or were they a surprise?

They’re not all in the same place — although it’s the same part of the country.
NZ has quite a few abandoned buildings, especially old farmhouses and sheds, and lots are visible from the road. I do a lot of driving to visit my dad, so there are a few I see again and again.

It’s funny especially with the last pic I thought the shed would stand somewhere in the Black Forest area. 😄

That’s interesting. I wonder how much our countryside looks like yours? I’ve only ever been to Germany in winter, and the snow was very unfamiliar to me.

I bet a lot! Many Germans emigrated to New Zealand because it reminded them a lot of home. 😊
