“There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer.” – Ansel Adams. Image: Su Leslie 2019
Some things feel like they should always come in twos — like biscuits, and scoops of ice-cream. Though with (regular) hindsight, maybe having two eyes but only one stomach is a problem.

Apparently, one of the earliest versions of the saying “two’s company, three’s a crowd” dates back to 1678. John Ray wrote in his collection English Proverbs “One’s too few, three too many.”

This is really superb Su – the two birds (albatross??) melt one’s heart, and the reflections are awesome. Thanks for sharing it with us. Really impressive!

Thank you Tina. 🙏
The birds are gannets. We’re fortunate that there is a breeding colony not far from home, so we can visit often.

The whole dessert was delicious. All the elements were flavoured with wines grown on-site. The little jellies were heavenly 😇

Just perfect! And I love Gannets. Close contact in the Galapagos islands, so a bit jealous of you having a colony close by!

We do feel very lucky. It has become very popular with visitors in recent years though, so I do fear a little about damage to their environment, and people doing stupid things.

The authorities should limit the visitors then, before it is too late!

In the photo you posted with the quote (great photo, BTW), there were *three* people. The photographer, the viewer, and the subject.
