Auckland to a New Plymouth with beach time at Tongaporutu, a short walk in Pukekura Park to remind myself how beautiful it is, and an evening stroll on the waterfront.
Plus tours of two of Sustainable Backyard Gardens; so interesting, I forgot to take photos.
especially like the brooding beach scene. Was King Lear nearby?

That house on the lake is gorgeous, Su.

Isn’t it. It is a teahouse, and gets really busy over summer.

Pukekura park was a favourite of mine when we lived there and I would love to be visiting those sustainable gardens, so many of them too. Sorry you didn’t take photos

It is a beautiful park. I visited Pukeiti and Holland Gardens at Kaponga too. People here really know how to create gardens!! The sustainable backyards are really interesting. Not easy to get good photos though — very much work in progress.

Thank you for the link – I often forget to take photos when I get excited …. also, to just soak in the experience is quite freeing!

That’s true. I’ve learned to enjoy the times when I know I won’t get good shots so I can just put the camera away.

It is a difficult habit to break, though. It is quite a funny sight when I dine out with certain friends – the minute someone’s food hits the table, and the cameras are poised & ready to shoot!

Oh I draw the line at photographing food in restaurants — unless I’ve specifically asked everyone if they mind and then only if I plan to blog about that food. I know people who use their phones to snap everything for FB or Instagram, but I love eating too much for that.

That’s us. We only usually remember we forgot to take a photograph after all the food has been eaten up!

Stunning. I’m in need of a road trip! But not today. Winds gusting at 70-80mph at the moment. Kept me awake most of the night. Goodness knows what it’s going to be like in the garden!

Hope the garden is ok, and the wind has died down.

Garden seems fine other than lots of leaves on the ground. The wind died down last night but is back, not at quite those speeds I’m glad to say.

It’s a really pretty beach. There are some cool rock formations that can be accessed at low tide — but naturally, I’m always there when the tide is coming in 😬 xx
