  1. Oh, goodness. I picked the last of my tomatoes a couple of weeks ago and they were still green! Not enough sun to ripen them, but a dark cupboard did the trick. I love picking my own tomatoes. The smell alone is worth the hassle of having to water them every day.

    • Tomatoes were the first (and only) thing we grew when the boy-child was little so he could experience food straight from the vine with the smell and the warmth and the sweetness. I’d love to give that to every kid.
