Stormy weather

Feijoa blossom. Image: Su Leslie 2019

Rain has set in for the day, with lightening strikes and hail forecast.

I’m hoping all the new buds and plants survive, including the feijoas (Acca sellowiana). In all the years we’ve had feijoa trees, this is the first time I’ve seen significant flowering.

  1. Funnily enough, I just got our washing off the line and at the same time admiring the overhanging feijoa tree. Hoping that it’s budding flowers turn into fruit. The flowers are so lovely and are a happy sight for all of us lovers of feijoas ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I enjoy seeing all the plants/flowers that I don’t know from around us. Rain can be devastating to buds and flowers. Lilacs, for instance, are beautiful but it seems that rain ruins the flowers almost immediately. We have to enjoy each of these beauties while we can!
