My computer has died, making photo editing difficult. So more pics of New Zealand’s flourishing native Christmas tree I’m afraid.

Wow, I haven’t seen it from that angle before. I’m glad you posted, Su.
Hope you get that computer working soon.

Thank you Tracy 🙏
There are pohutukawa trees growing semi-horizontally alongside a boardwalk locally, and that’s giving me a whole new perspective on them.

Good hunting with whatever is needed for the computer, not that your photos need editing❣️ 🖥

Thanks Sarah. T thinks it might be fixable, so I have my fingers crossed. I think my data is mostly backed up, but it’s always the unexpected stuff that turns out to be a problem.

T has built me a Frankenstein-computer out of old machines we had (as you do), and it seems to be working so far.

Sounds fantastic – almost literally! 😀

No need to worry, this is a fab shot. Hope it’s not too serious with the computer, always a pain when something goes wrong. I hope you have a back up 🤔

Thanks Jude. My back-up system hasn’t been working properly either, but luckily I’d done a manual one for the really important stuff. T thinks it’s fixable, so we’ll see.

Reminded me to do a back up!

I commiserate with you over a dead computer. They are such a big part of our lives now and without one, everything seems off kilter for a while. Good luck with your computer woes.
I do really love these trees!

Thank you Joanne. How are you coping with the horrible process of replacing your stolen laptop, cameras, etc. My problem is so minor compared to your loss, but it does give me a better understanding of how you must have felt.
Hope all is well with you and your whanau.

Thanks Su. It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride at times, but I’m making progress.
I have a new computer now, and have backup files from the end of May. I’m still struggling with my photo library though. It appears I have no backup at all of the catalogue. At least I appear to have the vast majority of photos, but I haven’t yet decided how to handle the lack of catalogue.
Nor have I replaced either camera yet. Still so much to decide.

I am glad you are making progress: it is a huge job and I empathise. Good luck.

Oh, no—what happened to the computer? And how did you post without it? On your phone?

It won’t turn on. T thinks it’s a power supply thing and might be fixable. I have an iPad, which I can use for basic posts, but the app is really clunky and slow to use if I want to post multiple photos, or write much.

A big like to the capture of the pohutukawa blossoms not to your computer issue. Agree with other comments, no editing needed. Hopefully, all fixed soon.

Thanks Suzanne. I think my talented engineer-in-residence has fixed the problem.

With luck, T has sorted the problem. I’ll grab a shot of the neighbour’s pohutukawa tree tomorrow!

It’s late: I’ve reread your comment and interpreted it entirely differently. You could probably grow one when you move house. 😂😂

😉. I wondered about that.

Sorry about you computer. I recently bought a new one in anticipation of the old one finally kicking the bucket, so I feel your pain. Hope you’re back and up in no time soon!

Thanks Lani. My partner has come to the rescue and built me a sort of hybrid computer out of rescued parts. So far, so good.

And this photo was rich and velvety – zoomed in a couple times – really pretty
