They are PERFECT – love them but never see them ‘in the wild’, only in Flower shops! I have one shrub with – what we call plate hortensias, a climbing sort – only sticking out their tiny flowers from the outside towards the middle but they never seemed to make it to a full opening and flowers are very scarce. But they are all the more magnificent for their rarety!
I love the hydrangea flowers. They bloom in such profusion. Your photo brings me joy after experiencing so much snow lately. It lets me dream of spring. Have a great day, Su!
gives me hope for spring!

This is so pretty, Su. I have a large oakleaf hydrangea and used to have a lace cap hydrangea in my yard. I love the flowers dried, too.

Thanks Lois. I am learning g so much about hydrangeas, and the more I know, the more I love them.

It is unusual; and it’s not flowering extensively so that doesn’t help with identification

That’s what stymied me. I’m use to see the full bloom…

I’d never seen one with the cone-shaped heads before. I have cuttings, but it may be the wrong time of year for them to grow. I’ll try anyway 😀

Intriguing bee sculpture, but I couldn’t see anywhere to comment?
