Brian at Bushboys World has instigated this cool project; inviting everyone to post the last shot of the month from their SD card or phone — unedited and without explanation.
I shoot in RAW format, so had to save this as a jpg file. Otherwise, it’s untouched.
Brian’s guidelines are:
- Post the last photo on your SD card or last photo on your phone for the 29th February.
- No editing – who cares if it is out of focus, not framed as you would like or the subject matter didn’t cooperate.
- You don’t have to have any explanations, just the photo will do
- Create a Pingback to this post or link in the comments
- Tag “The Last Photo”
Maybe it’s just me, but I love the expression on the meerkat’s face. Just a tad cheeky…

They are funny little things. We really enjoyed watching them — even if the glass was a bit smeared!

Me too. And lemurs; I spent ages watching them as well.

I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to edit because I cropped it. To make it square. For some reason, I thought it had to be square.
Meerkats are so adorable. I hope your wildlife comes back soon.

They are very cute. I think the new developments at the zoo will be really positive for the animals.

That’s a great last shot. Mine was the cover of a book recommended by a friend. It was easier than scribbling down the details. Not a fascinating photo.

I do that too. I pretty much photograph everything instead of writing details. Image as text

Thanks Brian. I couldn’t have timed our trip to the zoo better if I’d tried 😀

We were going to go to the zoo for my birthday present but it looks like our move date will be sooner, so we’ll go when we get settled on our new location.

Lovely idea for a present. Hope the changed date won’t cause headaches (though I’m sure you are very well organised Janet).

It will make my life after I get back quite busy, but we should be OK.

😀 yes, finally. Bad timing though — there is a major renovation happening to build a whole new primate area, so not many animals around. But fun anyway.

There’s the same thing going on at my zoo, I haven’t been to the wildcats for two years now!! The building site is huge. 😁

It is great for the animals to see these new developments, but frustrating for visitors. And without visitor dollars, it’s hard to keep looking after the animals — let alone make improvements. 🤨
