Not archive shots today; my lovely community garden has a camellia hedge and it’s in full flower.

That’s a shame. I so look forward to this time of year when they flower here.

So they bloom in your autumn?

These do. Some other varieties bloom in spring.

These are so pretty, Su. Our local camellia club was going to have their annual show/sale last month. Sadly, cancelled due to Corona.

I feel so sad about all the clubs and small organisations that have had to cancel events. Volunteers work so hard on them, all for nothing.

My white one is still flowering though looking worse for wear after the last couple of nights of rain, hail and gusty winds.

We used to have Camellia in my growing up days in my hometown! They were a bright pink colour. Ah how much I miss them.

I haven’t seen any pink camellias out yet. I’ve been checking a neigh our’s hedge for buds – it is a mix of pink and dark red.
